Evaluating Freshman Writing Skills
All entering freshmen are required to prove they have the basic skills to write in college. Through testing, they will show whether they write using the characteristics of academic writing (e.g. focus, organization, support, and proofreading). And that they have mastered fundamentals of writing in English (e.g. grammar, syntax, and Western academic styles).
Incoming freshmen will take the Writing Placement Exam.
Students admitted to the Honors College will take the Honors College Writing Diagnostic.
