Stressors, Buffers, Balance, and Hope: How Universities can Support Students with High Adverse Childhood Experiences

This presentation will provide a snapshot of the current student population at WSU, generated through a mixed-methods study of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) levels and proximal stressors, and the impact that these have on their academic and social experiences at WSU. The presenters will also provide insights into resources students have found valuable in overcoming challenges and approaches instructors can take to better accommodate students in the classroom with high levels of childhood trauma.
